STEP ONE |
Begin exploring the resources listed below. You will find sites for background information as well as sites proposing a particular point of view. |
STEP TWO |
In regards to your prospective position, develop 10 reasons why books should be banned and 10 reasons why books should not be banned. Site specific examples or resources when applicable. You will turn this in. |
STEP THREE |
Weigh the evidence carefully. As you investigate the issue, make notes to support your roles' position. You will need these for the committee session. |
STEP FOUR |
Based on your research, write a short one-page reflection about your roles’ position on the issue. You should use the notes and information you have gathered to support your position. You will turn this in. |
STEP FIVE |
Meet with your committee to discuss the various perspectives, and compile the information gathered. Use the information to create a position statement for the entire committee. |
STEP SIX |
Working as a group, develop a presentation that will be presented to the PTA (the class). You will need to present your position using visual aides. Visual aides may come in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, poster, or another resource of your choice. Please inform with your teacher what visual aide your committee plans to use. |
